Welcome to Harvesting Happy

Harvesting Happy grew from our roots at Happy Acres U-Pick, our family’s 21-acre homestead and 8-acre garden just outside Edmonton, Alberta.

For years, we welcomed visitors to pick their own vegetables, meet the animals, and enjoy homemade treats crafted with love using ingredients from our land and local favourites. It was more than a farm — it was a place where laughter carried through the garden rows, childhood memories took root, and families came together for a truly joyful farm experience.

Now, as our family transitions to a smaller farm, it’s time for us kids to learn and carry forward the cherished recipes and garden wisdom passed down from Mom — Farmer Deb — the heart and hands behind it all from the very beginning. Harvesting Happy is our way of honouring those traditions and memories, while creating space for new moments, new stories, and new joy to bloom.

Here, we hope to share the flavours of our home: garden-to-table meals, treasured family recipes both old and new, and a few well-kept baking secrets. Along the way, we’ll spotlight local “happy” spots and products that inspire us, and offer practical tips for growing, cooking, and preserving all this good food.
